Janis and Big Brother and the Holding Company recording Summertime for their Columbia album Cheap Thrills. The album was released in late 1968 and sold over one million copies that year. Shortly after the release of Cheap Thrills, Janis left the band to persue a solo career in music.

This is of course BBHC, in those videos it is Kosmic Blues. To see BBHC, you can view the vid posted from the show Don Adams hosted, but the guys weren't playing. They weren't plugged in.     January 9th, 2009 at 00:34:53 I've written it many times on YT, I think Bon Scott, Robert Plant, Axl Rose, Dan McCafferty should have paid her tribute as an influence on their styles. Unfortunately, she is unrecognized as an influence for any male singer. It is a shame, she was so wonderful and genius. Peace.
